    4th Annual Clean Water Classic Surf Festival

The Cape Fear Clean Water Classic Surf Festival is a gathering for surfers on the East Coast. It is also a forum for addressing water quality, equitable beach access, and other issues affecting the coastal environment. The Festival aims to bring like-minded surfers and ocean/water enthusiasts together to promote surfing and raise awareness of these issues. For more information email capefearchapter@surfrider.org.

    Bark in the Park

Can your dog catch a flying disc? Show off your pup’s potential at the 2008 Skyhoundz Hyperflight Canine Disc Championships. No experience is necessary and admission is free to spectators and competitors.     Bird Watching Tour

Explore the marshlands behind Wrightsville Beach on this tour that will benefit the North Carolina Coastal Land Trust. Blue, green, and tri-colored herons, white and snowy egrets, pelicans, osprey and a variety of gulls abound in this unique environment. In season, ibis, skimmers, oyster catchers, terns, cormorants, and loons can be viewed as well. Come explore the wonders of this bird rich environment from a kayak with an experienced guide at Salt Marsh Kayak Company. 10am-1pm. Reservations required. Cost is $60 per person.     Beach2Battleship Triathlon

The Beach2Battleship Full kicks off its first season in 2008 bringing the highly desired ultra distance back to the Carolinas. With a 2.4 mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile run, this event will bring the 2008 triathlon season to an end in a big way! This event benefits The Wilmington Family YMCA.     NC Holiday Flotilla 5K Run & Fun Loop Walk

Share the Vibe as the Flotilla turns 25! The 5K course takes participants around the John Nesbitt Loop, including a quick jaunt down N. Channel Drive and back. The Fun Loop Walk follows the "Loop" sidewalk. Start and finish will be at the Wrightsville Beach Town Park. 5K Run & Loop Walk start at 9:00am (registration begins at 7:30am).     4th Annual Turkey Trot

The Turkey Trot is one of the largest Thanksgiving Day events around the country. It is one of the most fun ways To Begin Thanksgiving Day. The 2.4 Mile Turkey Trot around the Loop and our 1 Mile or 2.4 Mile Gobbler Family Fun Walk is designed to accommodate everyone. On-site registration in the rear of the Park begins at 7:30am. $15 per person till 11/20, $20 per person after 11/20, Children under 12 FREE.

    Tree Lighting Ceremony & Flotilla Holiday Party

    Surf-Sun-Sand Volleyball & Bocce Ball Tournament

Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation is hosting the Annual Surf-Sun-Sand Volleyball & Bocce Ball Tournament. This six or four-person co-ed volleyball tournament has divisions for skill levels including Novice and Intermediate. Pre-registration is required.     31st Anuual YMCA Triathlon

The biggest race in the NCTS, and the largest from Washington DC to Florida. This race starts out with a 1,500 meter swim, the bike course is one loop that takes participants over the Wrightsville Beach drawbridge and onto the mainland and the 5K run course is a one-loop design and also flat. The run takes place on the very popular "loop" at Wrightsville Beach Call 910.251.9622 ext 224.
